It’s 9:00 a.m. and I’m washing dishes. I ain’t happy. Usually, we go to bed with a clean kitchen because I believe in starting the day with a clean slate, a fresh palate. Today’s bagel crumbs and cream cheese schmears are already up and running, so why would I want to scrub last night’s spaghetti sauce? I don’t even like spaghetti! Now, I’m not saying the rest of the house doesn’t look like squatters have set up shop, but not so our hub—we school here, guests congregate here, it’s where we all go first when we tumble from bed. Though the little people neglected last night’s kitchen duties, I know I can look to a new day in Christ. He’s always on duty. “Through the LORD’S mercies we are not consumed, Because His compassions fail not. They are new every morning; Great is Your faithfulness.” Lamentations 3:22-23
