I set the bar high over here. Even for myself. I constantly measure my success by what I haven’t done. Here it is Friday night, and all I can think about are the dishes in the sink, the toys on the den floor, the unfinished lessons, and the unwritten posts. I’m even kicking myself for dozing off on “Kermit’s Swamp Years” during family movie night. But then…I think about my ob/gyn. Her goal? Delivering a healthy baby. She left the cleanup, coaching, and nursery duties to the rest of us. She didn’t do it all. So, let’s stop beating ourselves up, mamas and papas, and praise our great Physician Who delivered our little people safely to their beds. Hey, we even taught them a Bible verse and some long division along the way! “Thus says the LORD, your Redeemer, And He formed you from the womb: I am the LORD, who makes all things, Who stretches out the heavens all alone, Who spreads abroad the earth by Myself…” Isaiah 44:24
